Stellar winds and metal enrichment from fast-rotating Population III stars

چکیده
Stellar winds from fast-rotating Population III (Pop III) stars have long been suspected to make important contributions early metal enrichment, as features in the nucleosynthesis of such `spinstars' are consistent with chemical abundance patterns some metal-poor local Universe. Particularly, stellar rich light elements can provide another pathway towards explaining carbon enhancement carbon-enhanced (CEMP) stars. In this work, we focus on feedback Pop combined supernovae (SNe), and derive resulting signatures enriched medium. We explore a large parameter space star formation, feedback, yields SNe semi-analytical model. The predicted pattern iron abundances second-generation agrees well observations CEMP-no ($[\rm Ba/Fe]<0$) at $[\rm Fe/H]\lesssim -3$ $A(\mathrm{C})\lesssim 7$, under optimistic assumption significant mass loss by massive ($\gtrsim 25\ \rm M_{\odot}$) that collapse into BHs without SNe. scenario, carbon-rich but iron-free form systems dominated enrichment winds, gaining trace amounts accretion interstellar medium, become most iron-poor seen -4$, C/Fe]\gtrsim 2$). conclude observed be explained both our + ISM channel well-studied faint SN scenario. Stellar Winds from Massive Stars
We review the various techniques through which wind properties of massive stars – O stars, AB supergiants, Luminous Blue Variables (LBVs), Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars and cool supergiants – are derived. The wind momentum-luminosity relation (e.g. Kudritzki et al. 1999) provides a method of predicting mass-loss rates of O stars and blue supergiants which is superior to previous parameterizations. Assu...
متن کاملRelativistic MHD Winds from Rotating Neutron Stars
We solve for the time-dependent dynamics of axisymmetric, general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic winds from rotating neutron stars. The mass loss rate as a function of latitude is obtained self-consistently as a solution to the MHD equations, subject to a finite thermal pressure at the stellar surface. We consider both monopole and dipole magnetic field geometries and we explore the parameter...
متن کاملMetal Enrichment in Galactic Winds
Observations give evidences of the presence of metals in the intergalactic medium (IGM). The stars responsible for transforming hydrogen and helium into more complex atoms do not form outside the galaxies in the standard scenario of galaxy formation. Supernovae– driven winds and their associated feedback was proposed as a possible solution to explain such enrichment of the IGM. It turned out th...

متن کاملRadio observations of stellar winds from early type stars
FifteenO andB supergiants have been observedwith the Very Large Array (VLA) at 4.85, 8.45, and 14.95 GHz in order to make a detailed comparative study of the mass loss rates evaluated from Hα and radio continuum observations and reveal and quantify possible departures from standardwind conditions. We detected 12 sources, 7 of which for the first time, thus increasing by 30% the total number of ...
